Transforming Healthcare Operations with Cutting-Edge Cloud Software
From efficient HR to innovative warehouse management, Atrium Healthcare have blazed a trail in the healthcare industry to dramatically improve operations across a wide range of departments.
In this engaging one-hour webinar, we speak with Joe Holt, Senior Application Specialist at Atrium Health to understand how they have transformed their end-to-end supply chain operations, enabling them to deliver on patient needs and break down business silos.
In a world that’s increasingly in a state of flux, Atrium are among the first healthcare providers to revolutionize outdated back-office functions in order to improve productivity, manage rising healthcare costs, and provide a platform to improve the patient experience.
Background
Atrium Health is an integrated, nonprofit health system with 70,000 teammates serving 67 hospitals and more than 1,500 care locations.
Back in 2019, in a challenging, dynamic environment where old legacy systems prevailed and outdated systems were being sunsetted, Joe and the team set out to completely revolutionize the entire operations process with phased rollouts. The trouble was that it wasn't just the supply chain processes that needed to be updated, it was others like HR and Finance too.
Because technology plays such a critical role in the patient experience- Atrium Healthcare knew they had to get this right or risk further disruption to an industry that’s been hit particularly bad by external crises in recent years.
Planning for change is one thing but transforming not one but three well-established healthcare foundations in the middle of a pandemic is another entirely.

Results
Since the project was initiated Atrium have seen vast improvements across the board. Improvements to the chain of custody of all supply chain materials has helped with better purchase and pay visibility, and automation of handheld computers has enabled efficient, real-time directed picking. Inventory visibility has also increased. All of these are helping to deliver better patient outcomes by freeing up more time and providing a higher standard of care.
It’s all about changing the mindset.
By identifying ‘Super Users’ Atrium were able to quickly up-skill key members of staff rather than rely on external support (especially key during covid). An Oracle / RF Smart roundtable on teams connected different departments and opened a new channel of communication that otherwise wouldn't have been there. This massively helped to break down barriers and encourage support for the new systems
